Up next is another star who's one of my favorites:

    e597a5d12ea559cc5f55374805ba2e01.jpg

Goldie Jeanne Hawn is an American actress and producer. She was born on the 21st November, 1945 in Washington D.C., USA. She was the youngest of three children and grew up together with an older sister. Her mother owned a dance school and a jewelry shop and her father was a musician. She is Jewish and also of German, English and Hungarian descent.

Goldie Hawn began taking dance lessons at the age of 3 and did her stage debut in Romeo and Juliet in 1964. Yet early in her career she was mainly a dancer. In the 1960s she moved to California and started out her acting career on comedy shows such as Goodmorning, world and Rowan and Martin's Laugh in. She soon found greater success though, with the movie Cactus Flower (1969), which earned her an Oscar as best supporting actress. After that Goldie Hawn was considered one of the most bankable stars at the box office for three decades!

In her career she has made approximately 30 movies. But which one is your favorite?

Okay it looks like our favorite Goldie Hawn movie is:

    tjejen_som_foll_overbord.jpg
    Overboard (1987)
In this romantic comedy Goldie Hawn portrays Joanna Stayton who is a rich spoiled upper class wife. She hires a carpenter named Dean to fix something on their boat and treats him badly. Later Joanna falls overboard and has amnesia. Then Dean sees the perfect opportunity to get even with her by showing up and claiming that she is his wife. He brings her back to his home where she gets busy cleaning up the place and trying to raise his four mischevious little children. In the movie Goldie Hawn co-stars is her real life partner Kurt Russell, so needless to say their chemistry is great. The movie is directed by Garry Marshall.

You gave it a total of 28 points.

Here's a trailer for the winning movie:

    Then the runner up was:

    cactus_flower_frgrand.jpg
    Cactus Flower (1969)

In this movie Goldie Hawn portrays Toni a young woman who is having an affair with an older man portrayed by Walter Matthau who she thinks is married. However he is only pretending to be married. When he promises to divorce his wife for Toni she insists on meeting her. So then he asks his co-worker portrayed by Ingrid Bergman to pretend to be his wife.

You gave it a total of 25 points.

Here's a trailer for that movie as well:

Then here's the rest of the list:

    Housesitter (1992) 24 p.
    The Sugarland Express (1974) 22 p.
    The First Wives´ Club (1996) 20 p.
    Death Becomes Her (1992) 18 p.
    Deceived (1991) 15 p.
    Private Benjamin (1980) 13 p.
    Bird On A Wire (1990) 13 p.
    The Banger Sisters (2002) 12 p.
    Seems Like Old Times (1980) 11 p.

    Everyone Says I Love You (1996) 10 p.
    Foul Play (1978) 8 p.
    The Out of Towners (1999) 6 p.
    Snatched (2017) 5 p.
    Best Friends (1982) 3 p.
    Swing Shift (1984) 2 p.
    Town & Country (2001) 2 p.
    Protocol (1984) 1 p.

Thank you to everyone who has taken part in this round. :)

Up next are movies and tv-series adapted from the books of this lady:
    Lindgren_1960.jpg
Astrid Anna Emilia Ericsson Lindgren was a Swedish author, scriptwriter and publisher. She was born on 14th November, 1907 in Vimmerby in the county of Småland in Sweden. She died in Stockholm on 28th January, 2002 at the age of 94.

Astrid Lindgren was a straight A student and had her first short story published in a paper when she was 13. She moved to Stockholm and got married and had two children. She worked as a translator and secretary. Her big break as a children's author didn't come until in 1945 when Pippi Longstocking was published. She won prizes for her first three books. Then she kept on writing and working as a publisher until the 1970s when she retired from her publishing job and kept on writing. In the 1960's some of her books started to become adapted into TV-series and movies that she also wrote the script for.

During her career she wrote approximately 40 books that has been translated into 104 different languages and has sold in 145 million copies around the world. Many of her books have also been adapted into movies or TV-series. But which one of them is your favorite?

Somehow I’ve gone through my entire life without even hearing of this film, much less watching it. The premise looks really fun so I’ll add it to my viewing bucket list.

Yeah I think it's an interesting twist on the familiar story i.e. woman discovers that her lover is married and then he comes up with all sorts of excuses ("but our marriage ended a long time ago", "as soon as the kids are in college" etc.)

Never missed an episode of Pippi Langkous

Big fan of Astrid Lindgren. We shared the same birthday too. I love how she wasn't afraid of writing about extreme poverty, homelessness or even children dying -- for an audience mostly made up of children. It wasn't the loads of crap that usually comes out these days where everything is sweet, colorful and stupid. J.K. Rowling, Roald Dahl, Astrid Lindgren etc etc are hugely popular for a good reason.

My favorite Astrid Lindgren movies or TV series are:

    1. Seacrow Island (Vi på Saltkråkan) - 13 episode TV series, 1964
    2. Ronia the Robber's Daughter (Ronja Rövardotter), 1984
    3. Du är inte klok, Madicken (movie #1), 1979
    4. The Children of the Noisy Village (Alla vi barn i Bullerbyn) (movie #1), 1986
    5. Emil i Lönneberga (movie #1), 1971
    6. Pippi Långstrump - 13 episode TV series, 1968
    7. Madicken på Junibacken (movie #2), 1980
    8. More About The Children of the Noisy Village (movie #2), 1987
    9. Nya Hyss av Emil i Lönneberga (movie #2), 1972
    10. The Brothers Lionheart, 1977

    FYI on Astrid Lindgren's work:

Astrid Lindgren wrote both "boyish" and "girlish" books, as well as "unisexish" (if you are going to stereotype things). Meaning there are those stories that boys generally prefer and those that girls generally prefer. Plus those that you can't really tell if it's more boys or girls in general that prefers it. I have added YouTube clips to each listed:

    The Boyish stories:
    The Brothers Lionheart
    Karlsson on the Roof
    Nils Karlsson Pyssling
    Rasmus på luffen
    Mästerdetektiven Blomkvist

    The Girlish stories:
    Pippi Longstocking
    Madicken
    Ronja Rövardotter
    Lotta på Bråkmakargatan
The Children of the Noisy Village
    Kajsa Kavat

    The more Unisex stories:
    Seacrow Island
    Emil i Lönneberga
    Mio My Mio

I agree that both boys and girls can enjoy Astrid Lindgren's books. Yet I wish you hadn't put a label on which books are intended for boys or for girls as I have never given it any thought and prefer to think that all books can be enjoyed by both genders. After all most books include both male and female characters.

I love Astrid Lindgren too. My mom used to read all of the books to my sister and me when we were kids and until this day Astrid Lindgren remains my most favorite author! :)
We also visited some of the filming locations when I was a child. The first place I went to was Pippi's house at Gotland. I visited that when I was 2 years old and 5 years old. Then when I was 11 we also visited Emil's house and the houses of noisy village. The year after we finally made it to the rather new Astrid Lindgren's world. The visit was rather awkward though since I had the mind of a child but the body of an adult (almost same height as today) so most of the miniature houses where children could play was painfully too small for me. I did enjoy the brief stop we made at the house Astrid grew up at in Näs more. It was just a bookshop there at the time so we got to talk to some of her relatives that were supernice and really encouraging when they heard that I loved to write too. :)

Many years later I worked on a talk show for local tv. It was a part of a youth project where the participants filmed the show and were encouraged to come up with ideas of different themes for our shows. In our last season we did an Astrid Lindgren themed episode. It's available to watch here if anyone's interested:

It's in Swedish though with English subtitles.

So cool it's the same music but a lyrics I understand nothing of. Which language is that?

I will post my Astrid Lindgren list a bit later as I need to give it some thought in which order to list them. :)

Sadly, I've not seen any of her work so I won't be able to take part in this round. I'll be interested to see what wins as I might make it the first of her films that I'll watch.

Could it be that you didn't see a tv-series, but rather parts of the 3 movies that were made? I don't think Emil was ever made into a tv-series.
