Hey, Friends. I was watching the Twilight Zone marathon last weekend, and a young (and handsome) Steve Forrest starred on one of the episodes.

Even if you are not a fan of the Wes Parmalee character, you might want to watch the episode if it comes back around. It was filmed in 1963, so Steve Forrest was much younger then, and it's fun to watch the fact that he still has many of the same facial expressions and mannerisms that he displayed many years later on Dallas.

If you want to see a Dallas actor is a completely different setting, then check it out. Twighlight Zone (1963) The Parallel.

Oh, I dreamed about him last night -- Forrest was doing all sorts of acrobatic heroics at a very advanced age.

It's too bad that the Wes Parmalee charcter fell flat. Steve Forrest is a good actor.

I loved Steve Forrest in Dallas, I always think of him as The Baron which was repeated on TV a long time ago now
I never believed for a minute that he was Jock but part of him wanted him to be and i loved his scenes with BBG and Steve Kanaly in particular
his ending was too rushed and I felt cheated that we never saw his final scene in the SF living room with Momma

Steve and Barbara many moons before SF

It's just a shame that the Wes Parmalee character was written out & he never got to stay on as Jock Ewing.

The way they handled the character's exit was rather rushed.

I've often wondered if Wes had ultimately been revealed to be Jock that it would've made the future of the show more secure, especially since both Susan Howard & Victoria Principal left at the close of that season.

Having Jock back after the departure of Pam Ewing might've been enough to keep the show going longer than it actually did. I guess we'll never know now but having Jock return would've provided some good meaty interpersonal storylines involving Miss Ellie, Clayton & Jr & Bobby. It's a pity that none of that happened as they reneged on Jock's return, as for me it was obvious that that was who he was. A shame. :)
