AKA: Stags' Leap Winery...
I'll never forget the couple of hours I spent there, exploring the house and grounds, it was even more majestic than Falcon Crest which is saying something. Just walking down that road with the trees on both sides made you never wanna leave.
A very picturesque setting, from every focal point. Incidentally in real life the Stags Leap Winery / manor is roughly 13 miles away from the Spring Mountain Vineyard / Villa Miravalle. Of course fictionally as set locations for the Gioberti estate and Angela's mansion plus adjoining vineyards / winery they were in close proximity.
Maggie, Vicki, Cole and Chase have moved from New York to the Tuscany Valley (1 hour away from San Francisco). They will be living in the old Gioberti castle, resided in by Chase's late father Jason, (a scene from season 1, 1981 - '82):
Cole: "Hey dad you sure about this? This place looks a kinda run down."
Chase: "Well it is a kind of a 'fixer upper' but with a little work we'll get it into shape."
Gus (the chief grape harvester) walks up the drive: "Chase!"
Chase: "Gus how ya doin?"
They shake hands.
Maggie: "Hi Gus!"
Gus: "Maggie. Welcome to Falcon Crest!"
Chase: "Gus I'd like you to meet my daughter Vicki and my son Cole. Gus as been around here for a long time. If you listen to him you won't have any problems."
Gus: "It is great having you here Chase. Your father lived for this so much."
The preferred option sure was chosen when Stags Leap became home to the Giobertis in December 1981, instead of the property in The Vintage Years.
In my opinion an ideal place for the Giobertis to call home. Idyllic in so many ways.
Wow some video there Snarky....great to see a tour around Maggie and Chase,s place in the modern day.
Great to see the place again. I hope to visit someday; the dwelling / estate is a truly grand place in such a lovely setting
