I have always enjoyed this series - as I have been to India and watched it tonight, Stephanie Beacham is one of the guests on the new show

Face looks a little botoxed and she looks like she may be high maintenance, also stars Susan George who i think was married to Simon McCorkindale and a few more UK celebs

THE REAL MARIGOLD HOTEL is back for another series, and Stephanie Beacham has revealed which was the most surprising moment during their travels around India.

The BBC’s travel documentary, The Real Marigold Hotel, was inspired by the hit film, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.

The premise of the show is simple: a group of famous elderly celebrities travel around India to find out whether it’s the place they’ve always wanted to retire to.

The show is now in its third season, and there’s a new batch of participants who’ll be discovering the delights, and horrors, that India has to offer.

Stanley Johnson, Selina Scott, Stephanie Beacham, Susan George, Bob Champion, Syd Little, Janette and Ian Tough and Peter Dean will be visiting the Indian city of Udaipur and its surrounding areas on the show this year.

British television, radio, film and theatre actress, Stephanie Beacham, 71, has recently spoken about her time in India and she revealed what surprised her the most about India.

“Lack of road rage!” she answered immediately.

She continued: “In ridiculous traffic jams caused by creamy, lazy cows which are of course are sacred animals, and if they take up two lanes of the motorway, that’s what happens.”

Beacham then went on to discuss her most memorable moment of her trip.

“I think it was the wondrous Amet family home, which was our Marigold Hotel,” she said.

“Also, the view of the lake from my allotted room and doing Yoga with the surroundings of the White Palace, the lake and the storks in flight.”

It sounds like this season’s hotel will be yet another paradise on Earth.

The main reason for going on the show is to find out whether India is the place the participants would like to retire to, yet Beacham didn’t have time to reflect on her experience at all.

“No - there was no time at all. Very busy camp!” the actress answered when she was asked whether she had had time to reflect on her time in India.

That said, she did reveal that she would love to go back to the country and explore its future.

“I’ve got so much more I need to see,” she stated when asked if she’d ever return to India.

So far, The Real Marigold Hotel has explored Jaipur, Kochi and Udaipur.

Given the size of the country and the sheer number of incredible places to visit in India, The Real Marigold Hotel could theoretically continue for years to come.

I hate to say this but 3 episodes in and she ie Ms Beacham is the least likeable of the "celebs"

very actressy, over dramatic and rude and very high maintenance, she isnt endearing herself

    on the other hand

Jeanette Krankie is the star of the show. No heirs and graces. Just herself and funny, along with husband Ian and Sid Little

Thoroughly nice chaps, even liking Boris's dad and Bob Champion

Selina (or semolina as we called her back in the day) Scott hasnt aged well at all and Susan George seems sad

However the star of the show is India - A fascinating country and everyone should go once in their life to taste it, feel, it, smell, it, breathe, it and experience it

But when Stephanie Beacham jokingly threatened to slap Ian Tough, she instantly endeared herself to me.

I like Stephanie Beacham the most out of them. I don’t think that has anything to do with the four things I’ve found out that I have in common with her from watching the three episodes so far. I do like Janette and Ian Tough. And Syd Little. And Peter Dean. I usually think of Boris as Stanley Johnson’s son. I like them all. In distant and abstract ways. Susan George’s husband died a few years ago and yes, she does understandably seem sad. After the deaths of some of the people closest to me in the last decade, there is a sadness present in me that wasn’t there before. Although in me, that has made me kinder, more relaxed and gentler in some ways. And more indifferent and occasionally ruthless in others. I don't know about Selina Scott and ageing. I find her much easier to like now, than I did years ago. And I’ve found things that I have in common with her too. I remember her falling for Patrick Troughton’s compliments on Breakfast Time. Even though I don’t think I was officially born then.

She gets on well with Syd, Janette and Ian. Both Stephanie and Syd have said nice things about enjoying each other’s company and she has spoken about enjoying her time with Janette and Ian. And Ian and Syd have bonded.
