Could you have imagined William R Moses in the role of Lance? Apparently he was considered as Angela's toy boy grandson. I'm not sure if he could have been Lance, as he seemed so suitable when cast as good natured cousin Cole.

Interesting question. I think William R. Moses is an accomplished actor and could have pulled to role of Lance off reasonable well but I don't think he would have been as good as Lorenzo. In many ways, Lorenzo was Lance. They are both more carefree characters, womanisers and have a bit more of an edge. I also think Lorenzo had better chemistry with Ana-Alicia so overall I think the casting department got it right.

I don't know, sometime after Falcon Crest Moses was cast as a possessive demented stalker on Melrose Place and I still found him rather lovely. :)

WRM was a sexy Cole, but LL had a typical, sultry-macho appearance that was just perfect for the role of Lance.
Say about the soaps what you like, but the casting was usually spot on. Not always, but usually.

William R. Moses was very believable as Maggie and Chase's son. I just can't visualise him doing Tai Chi / the other martial arts with Chao-Li. Lorenzo Lamas had accomplished the moves really well.

Melissa and Cole are driving, in the white Porsche. Melissa puts the car through its paces, before Cole goes for a bit of a race. They are about to switch places just as Angela pulls up in her Mercedes SL, (a scene from season 1, 1981 - '82):

    Cole: "Oh no!"

Angela: "Hello Cole and Melissa. How are you?"

Melissa: "Hello Mrs. Channing. How's Lance? I haven't seen him."

Angela: "Oh, he is on a little trip but I'll call you as soon as he gets home. Bye!"

Melissa mutters under her breath: "I bet you will."

Melissa then returns to the Porsche and asks Cole: "So where is this private retreat you have been telling me about?"

Cole: "The springhouse. Come on I'll show it to you!"
