I just watched an episode of "The Simpsons" titled "A Test Before Trying", and in it Lisa is forced to throw away some things they don´t use anymore. One of them is...the "Divine De-Veiner". I wanted to share it with you in case you like the show and didn´t see this episode (it´s not recent but not a classic one either). After committing their dog into the "Knuts Landing" clinic, Marge´s expressing her interest for Joan Van Ark (though they only talk about "Joan of Arc"), and many nods to "Dallas" and "Falcon Crest", here comes another proof of the cult status of our fav show!
Nice catch! I'm guessing they will make the rounds of all the shows eventually, since they're in their 29th season!! With William Devane endorsing it, I'm shocked the Divine De-Veiner isn't made out of gold.
More Knotsy moments from The Simpsons: The Baldwin guy (the one who can act) And, well, why not? She also was on KL... Halle Berry I also found this, which is a good way to end this post!
Were any of the actors mentioned on other shows? I remember Michele Lee was mentioned on Will & Grace -- not the episode she appeared on, but in a movie-of-the-week context. Any others?
WILL: And, uh, then I'm gonna sit on that couch with you and watch Lifetime. That Michelle Lee movie's on. GRACE: Which one? WILL: "I'm Not Leaving Town Without My Daughter Because I Have A Brain Tumor, But Don't Hit Me, You Have A Drinking Problem." GRACE: Good one.
Joan got a mention in Jack's birthday episode: JACK: "I want a celebrity. No-one lower than Joan Van Ark." WILL: "How about Joan Of Arc?" JACK: "What show was she on?"
On Married with Children Al found himself in heaven. He asked to speak to God, but the angel told him God couldn't be disturbed because he was watching Knots Landing. Al replied, "I always wondered why that show had never been cancelled." Now he knows why!
I've been re-watching season one of Will and Grace. In the episode I watched tonight (season 1, episode 7), Jack got hysterical about his tax audit and Will slapped him and then apologized saying "I'm sorry for that Knots Landing moment, but believe me it was necessary."
I had to Google it to find the source, but I remembered this exchange. Evidently it's also from The Simpsons. Oh, did you say "Joan Van Ark"? No, Mom, Joan of Arc. It's never Joan Van Ark. https://frinkiac.com/caption/S13E14/556139
As I recall, the original UK DVD release listed the four or five chapters within the episodes. It excited and upset me that this particular chapter was called "The Knotts Landing Moment" [sic].
Think there was a very old thread about it. Knots was also mentioned on the original 90210, I think one of the characters said something like "I feel like I'm living in knots landing".
Another soap nod on TS, also from Season 24: this time to "Revenge". Marge wants to delete the TiVo memory and Homer refuses to it specifying what shows he wants to watch, "Revenge" among them. I wonder if TNT "Dallas" will get a mention too...Here´s the complete quote from "Whiskey Business": Homer: You want to erase the 2009 Oscar red carpet? But they had some amazing dresses, along with a few disasters! Marge: Fine, then what should I erase? Homer: I don't know, but hands off my Hoarders, don't erase any of my episodes of Episodes, and if you erase any of my episodes of Revenge...
