The match between Krystle Carrington and Karen Mackenzie is currently neck and neck. Cliff Barnes vs Valene Ewing is less close but anyone can still win either match so have your say by voting before midnight on Sunday 25th November when the polls close.

It’s funny. The first part of this tournament it looked like a high possibility for either of Gary’s two ex wives to win this whole thing. Now it’s looking more like Gary could win it. It’s proving quite un-predictable. It’s like watching a soap and wondering what’s gonna happen next?! Gary?!

Match 7, round 2: Krystle - the blonde Alexis rival is surprisingly the only one from the Colorado saga still firing on all cylinders. IMHO DYNASTY needs a representative in the closing stages of this 80's prime time game. Earthy rose tinted Karen was an interesting character to watch, married twice and a good Sea View Circle neighbour. However she is pipped by Mrs. Carrington, as my choice.
Match 8, round 2: Valene - we got comic relief in abundance from Cliff. This was a positive part of his personality, in his endeavours to outsmart J.R. I was happy when the Barnes oilman struck it big with the Gold Canyon 340. Nevertheless I would prefer Valene to still participate and the country girl she originally was should be carrying a KL flag, with her first husband Gary. Lucy's mama gets another X.

So we bid a sad farewell to Valene Ewing and our last representative from Dynasty, Krystle Carrington. The 8 characters competing in the quarter finals has now been settled and the players board has been updated accordingly.

Details of the first 2 quarter final matches will be posted shortly including a match between 2 characters from the same soap.

    Please Note:
Reminder of the rules of the game as this is the first time this scenario has occurred. If 2 characters from the same soap are drawn to play each other in one match, you can still for second character from that same soap in the other match. i.e. you may still vote for Jock regardless of who you vote for in match 2.

Match 1: As Miss Ellie would say "Jock was a great man" but I think Angela Channing was greater. Angela dominated Falcon Crest in a way that Jock never did with Dallas. She was loyal, dishonest, funny, wicked, loving and ruthless, sometimes all of these in the same scene. She was one of the most watchable, fascinating and memorable characters from the genre of 80s prime time soaps. My winner is Angela Channing.

Match 2: As much as I loved Sue Ellen, I feel Cliff was more vital to Dallas than she was. Cliff was the underdog who no matter how many times he was knocked back, would get up and keep pursuing his dream, ultimately leading him to take control of Ewing Oil. Sue Ellen sobered up and sold knickers. My winner is Cliff Barnes.

Since I cant vote for 2 Dallas characters

I will vote for Angela Channing as i said before my mum liked Jane Wyman in Johnny belinda etc

    2. CLiff = one of the most under rated characters and actors on Dallas and the Barnes clan were essential to Dallas storyline.

You can vote for Dallas characters in both matches because that rule is suspended because one match has 2 people from Dallas. Therefore, if you want to change your vote in the first match to Jock, you can.

    2017 I think (unless it is 2016)
First, with DYNASTY out of the picture, this is as important to me as deciding what US-produced chocolate bar is better (hint: I ate one of a few different ones of that category when I first came to the US, and there was never a second try. I just suffered until I moved to NYC where imports were readily available).

Match 1: Angela Channing. As I said before, she was Falcon Crest, and as others have noted, her age was quite a first for a lead character in such a drama.
Match 2: I found both characters interesting to watch and frustrating at the same time (Cliff's closed-minded self-righteousness and inability to see any trap J.R. laid out for him; Sue Ellen's forgiving and re-forgiving J.R.). I'll go with Sue Ellen by a very close margin.

Match 1: If Jock Ewing was good enough to beat Miles Colby and Lance Cumson then there must be something really special about this old oil tycoon.
Only a few soap characters remain relevant after they die (Catherine Peyton, Jacqueline Perrault, Laura Avery, JR Ewing) and Jock was one of them.

Match 2: I don't want Cliff Barnes defeat the first Mrs. Ewing only to be defeated by the other first Mrs. Ewing in the next round.
Also, the way JR and Cliff ended up (both rotting in eternal darkness) is the most epic conclusion to a character's story arc I've ever seen in soap.

Well, I'm more familiar with Jock. But from what I've seen Angela was the driving force of her series, and a pretty fascinating character all round. So my vote goes to...
    Angela Channing

    Match Two
I'm still sore at Cliff for killing Val in the previous round. But I think Val's lack of votes actually had less to do with Cliff and more to do with many voters' aversion to Krystle paired with the rule of not voting the same series twice in the same round. And it's about time Cliff won at something. So I vote for...
    Cliff Barnes
