1. Sue Ellen
There's still time to save Jason. The poll closes at midnight on Sunday. Vote for you winner between Fielding Carlyle and Sue Ellen Ewing and between Jason Colby and Lance Cumson.
Match 9 - Sue Ellen
Match 10 - Lance
Match 9) - Sue Ellen
Match 10) - Lance
The Southfork Rodeo is underway. Sue Ellen discusses JR with his new woman on the side, Mandy Winger, (a scene from season 8; 'The Dream Season', DVD - 9, 1985 - '86):
Sue Ellen: "Mandy, I know JR every which way there is to know him and he's never going to change. Never! He's going to use you like he uses all the others and then he is going to walk out on you, never to come back."
Mandy: "You really want me out of his life. Don't you?"
Sue Ellen: "Not for the reasons you think. I don't want him back. Mandy, I'm telling you this for your own good because JR destroys every woman he goes to bed with. It's by the Grace of God that he didn't destroy me. Don't let him do it to you!"
Mandy becomes emotional: "Thanks for the advice! You'll forgive me if I don't take it because you don't know what the hell you're talking about."
Sue Ellen: "Isn't it strange how the mistress always thinks she is smarter than the wife? If she's so smart why is she the mistress?
The poll has now closed and the votes have been counted and verified and the totals for your votes in last week's matches are as follows:
Fielding Carlyle - 1
Sue Ellen Ewing - 16
Jason Colby - 3
Lance Cumson - 14
The 2 characters going through to the next round are confirmed as:
So there were two more emphatic wins in last week's matches in what was probably the most one-sided votes in the history of the World Cup.
Thanks to everyone who took part in last week's vote. Details of the next 2 matches will be posted later today.
The player board has been updated as we say a sad farewell to Fielding Carlyle and Jason Colby. There wasn't a lot of love for our eliminated players this week but they were up against tough opponents.
This weeks matches will be a clash between 2 heads of families and between to characters who could be considered to be villains.
Details of the next matches will be posted shortly.
Match 11 - Jock Ewing
Match 12 - Sable, no Greg, no, Sable, no Greg.. Frig it, I'm going with Sable Colby.
Match 11- Jock Ewing
Match 12- Greg Sumner
Match 11: Jock Ewing
Match 12: Greg Sumner
1. Jock Ewing
2. Sable Colby
Match 11 - Jock was a dinosaur, sexist, macho, at times was cruel, abandoned his first wife when she got sick, terrible parent who had favourites and set his children against each other but that's why he was such a great character. Chase was an annoying sanctimonious hypocrite. Jock Ewing wins.
Match 12 - Sable was by far the most interesting character in The Colbys but that's not enough to beat the great Greg Sumner who was a compelling antagonist. Greg Sumner wins.
1 Jock Ewing - never a huge fan of the character and how he treated people tho
2 Greg Sumner and basically cos I think he is one of the best and most charismatic actors out and I loved him in the Marathon man, i have never actually seen him in KL as he didnt appear in S1 or 2 til Sid died.
1. Jock Ewing
2. Greg Sumner
11. Jock Ewing, only because I really don't want to reward that sanctimonious Chase G with a vote
12. So tough! But I have to go with Greg Sumner. (Any other time, it would be m'girl Sable!)
Not that my choices will have any impact on the outcome of this match, but...
1. Chase Gioberti - he's one of my favourite soap characters.
Many FC fans dislike him because he became such an unpleasant person, but to me it's the story of a man whose dream became a nightmare.
Falcon Crest had that effect on people, look what happened to Julia and Melissa.
2. Sable Colby.
Greg Sumner was very, very good, but Sable was everything.
2. Greg (But it's killing me not to vote for Sable.)
Another tough one. But I will go with:
He and Miss Ellie laid the foundation for the Ewing family and without the Ewings there would be no Dallas.
Since she was more essential to her show than Greg was to his.
