ARGH! I forgot to add 'League of Gentlemen'!!!!
Don't worry I'll add it to your list when I calculate the results. It will probably be done over the weekend. So anyone else who also want to take part in this has until then to do so.

19 Six Feet Under
Finally I've been able to caculate the results. It wasn't easy to do since 17 members have listed 223 tv-series over the past couple of months and many of the shows were new to me. So I've been using IMDB and Google to try to figure out which shows you mean when you haven't stated the years in brackets. The shows without years are shows that are named the same as some other show and I don't know which show you are referring to. Those members who find their favorites among the ones without years can feel free to tell me which show you were referring to. I apologize in advance for any errors in the results. If you find a show listed twice do tell me and I will fix it.
Anyway we have a result. Our top twenty favorite Tv-series are:
1. Dallas – (1978-1991)
In this classic drama series we'll get to follow the Ewing family through their trials and tribulations over 13 years. They live in Texas and are in the oil industry and also have cattle on their ranch Southfork. JR is the oldest son. He is married to Sue Ellen, a former beauty queen. Bobby is the youngest brother. He is married to Pamela Barnes, who's brother Cliff Barnes is in a feud with the family. JR and Bobby often compete for their father's approval and both want to be president of Ewing Oil, which is the company their dad Jock founded in the 1930s. Miss Ellie is the matriarch who is trying to hold her dysfunctional family together. Jock also had a fourth son out of wedlock named Ray Krebbs. He is married to Donna. Then there's the middle brother Gary who's moved to Knots Landing with his wife Valene, but they've left behind their daughter Lucy in Dallas. Lucy is a teenage rebel who is often unlucky in love. The series was created by David Jacobs.

Thank you to everyone who's taken part in this.
Thanks for the tally-up, Karin!
Thanks @Karin Schill for your time and energy to put this top 20 together, I really enjoyed putting my top 20 together.
You're welcome Emelee and Payton Cross. I am glad you enjoyed this.
Also if anyone wants to discuss the results or missed taking part in this and wants to post their list of Top 20 Shows feel free to do so.
All late lists won't be included in the results however as I won't change it.
I remember having a sleepless night as a child when I remembered Columbo in 1974 declaring that he had been on the force for 15 years and then in 1990 (the 1989-2003 run) stating that he had been on the force for twenty-two years. Maybe he had a break in between. I remember not being that keen on Last Salute to the Commodore from the 1970s run but that was the only 70s one I had a problem with. I do remember being troubled by the reference to Mrs Columbo and a water bed in Murder, Smoke and Shadows.
I can’t really have a top 20 but I think Public Eye (ABC/Thanes) starring Alfred Burke would be in it.
