    1. Ellie says how much she likes having everyone together again at dinner and then she notices John Ross in Jock's chair. All the family turn around and look at him and he smiles.

    2. Miss Ellie tells the family that she is giving half of Southfork to Clayton and JR says he "won't allow a carpet bagger from San Angelo reap the benefits of my Daddy's work".

    3. JR accuses Pam of giving Ewing files to Cliff and she walks out. The family all look awkward and say nothing and Bobby gets mad that no one says anything to support her.

    4. Jamie's first dinner at Southfork when JR quizzes her on her knowledge of the oil business and not only does she answer every question correctly, she turns the tables by asking him a question that he gets wrong.

    5. JR seats the family for dinner, telling Jenna to sit in Pam's chair, Donna to Lucy's and then says to Ray "you sit in Gary's chair, you two have so much in common".

    6. Ellie and Clayton return from Jamaica while the family are seated for dinner. She tells Clayton to sit down and the only seat left is Jock's. The three Ewing sons look at him and Bobby and JR have a look of contempt on their faces.

    7. The Ewings are sat around the table talking about how they like having cocktails before dinner while Ellie stares at Jock's empty chair. She gets up and goes into the kitchen and smashes the crockery.

    8. JR tell the family the reason why Ray isn't there for dinner is because he "feels uncomfortable eating with the family, after all we do use knives and forks".

    9. JR suggests that it's strange that a man over 30 hasn't been married causing Pam to angrily tell him that Cliff was engaged but the girl died.

    10. Clayton apologies to the family for any embarrassment he might have cause the family over Laurel but JR is in no mood for forgiveness and accuses him of "running around with that little tramp" and killing David Shulton.

Your mission this week is to list your favourite other TV show that a Dallas actor or actress has appeared in.

    Excluding Knots Landing
EXCEPT where an actor/actress plays a new role.

So that would be no to Gary, Val, JR, Bobby, Lucy & Kristin

Brought to you by @Angela Channing

    Oh, smart thinking.

Let's not include Knots for obvious reasons.

Ah well - that still leaves plenty of great shows to choose from.

(Although… there were plenty of Dallas actors who played different roles on Knots).

Now, you're messing with my head, it's all gone crazy and I'm starting to wonder if this is what its like when one uses LSD

I could include KNOTS LANDING if the DALLAS actors played a completely different role.

Sorry - I probably ought to have kept quiet as I'm creating a right old mess here.

Are we listing it by how much we like the series or the Dallas actor's role in it? That would definitely make my list look very different.

Excellent question and thinking about it, I believe both options merit their own top ten.

    So....

Let's go with the original suggestion where @Angela Channing quotes 'Favourite other TV show' and use this to list the ten best TV shows outside Dallas.

Then I can do another Favourite other TV character that a Dallas actor/actress has played.

That's how I envisaged it: to base choices on the TV show rather than the performance.

When I do my list I'm only going to include shows where the Dallas actor appeared several times and not include one-off appearances but I guess that's up to everyone to decide how they will select their own top tens.

I guess I can throw in an early vote this time...

    1. I Dream Of Jeannie (Larry)
    2. Step by Step (Patrick)
    3. Walker Texas Ranger (Sheree)
    4. Desperate Housewives (Brenda)
    5. The Love Boat (Just about everyone!)
    6. Models Inc (Linda)
    7. Titans (Victoria)
    8. Petrocelli (Susan)
    9. Man From Atlantis (Patrick)
    10. The Bold and the Beautiful (Patrick)

I've tried to focus my list on shows where Dallas actors play major roles (or in the case of the Love Boat, several actors guest starred several times)

I think it's a stretch to call that actor a Dallas actor as I don't even remember the character he played on Dallas!:lolo:

Just because you can't remember someone doesn't mean they can't be classed as a Dallas actor.

I guess it all depends on how you define the term. But each to their own.

This was such a good series and would have been 11th in my list. I had forgotten that Jared Martin was in it but I remember Morgan Woodward (Punk Anderson) was in it too.

    2. Dynasty (Alex ward and king Galen were two of the limpest characters ever but we are going by show, not actor lol
    3. Desperate Housewives (again no fan of Ann at all but as Mary Alice was much better and this show really was great fun!)
    4. Glitter
    5. Paper Dolls
    6. I Dream of Jeannie
    7. Petrochemical
    8. 6 Feet under (the super Gerald Kane)
