The Washington Post reported yesterday and then NBC News confirmed that Trump asked Director of National Intelligence and NSA Director to make public statements denying the existence of any evidence of collusion between his campaign and Russia.

That's on top of what we learned last week about Trump trying unsuccessfully and on multiple occasions to get the FBI Director Comey to kill the Russia investigation and then, after Comey refused, firing him.

This is not the behavior of an innocent man.

Even if, hypothetically speaking, there really wasn't any collusion between Team Trump and Russia (a laughable proposal at this point) or even if Trump himself was innocent and erroneously believed the investigation into such collusion was baseless (again, highly unlikely), that doesn't negate a charge you're committing a high crime by trying to kill the said investigation.

After all, that's what cost Nixon the presidency. It wasn't as much the original crime (break-in at the DNC headquarters at the Watergate hotel) as much as the subsequent attempt to cover it up and kill the investigation into it. So, you can forget the collusion or the Russian money laundering. Trump has already earned his impeachment by trying to cover it all up.
