I think I have decided on The Young And The Restless. I have to somehow make it happen.
Try to get your hands on some of the episodes with Eddie Cibrian. Or, failing that, on Eddie Cibrian himself.
Why'd ya think I got Sunset Beach?
And he's just for starters. Sunset Beach really was jam packed with hot guys.
This scumbag did things to me....
I prefer Eddie Cibrian for dessert.
And for the main??
I'm gonna pass....
Y&R like many of the more well known soaps will be hard to find. Realistically I’d say focus on finding 97-2004 which was the last truly amazing year it had. Even then it’ll be spotty in my experience looking.
You can find complete runs for Passions, Sunset Beach, GH spin off Port Charles (which was really good), I believe Santa Barbara is out there, GH from 80s to present day, Ryan’s Hope from 75-82 and of course DAYS from 80s until now.
Y&R is my personal favorite so I wish it had more available. I’d rewatch the entire thing but I really wish I could rewatch the 90s. I have several weeks from 1997-1999 and it was just so good. Different from the others but it’s style worked so well before they started trying to revamp it.
When it came to gorgeous men on Sunset Beach, I prefered Sam Behrens!
Speaking of Sarah Michelle Gellar - her shortlived syndicated daytime soap Swans Crossing is available on ShoutFactoryTv: http://www.shoutfactorytv.com/series/swans-crossing
It's only 65 half hour episodes.
It wont play on my device?
I honestly just saw it on their page - it's also apparently available on the app Tubi.
Y&R was still in the hands of William J. Bell in the 90s, and it was a classy, well written soap. Same with B&B until 1993. B&B started going campy and having multiple personality disorder once Bradley Bell took over, and Y&R also lost a lot of its stability once William J. Bell passed the baton there too.
Y&R continued to be good when his protégés Kay Alden and later Jack Smith took over. When they really started to suffer was in 2005 when they started bringing in other people. It’s a shame just how bad the show is. The transformation they’ve attempted makes no sense considering the show was so successful. I’m not saying freshen it up, but they’ve tried to drastically to change it as if it was some failure of a show. B&B is horribly written but with Ed Scott producing the show at least looks and feels like B&B.
I doubt I will be getting The Young And The Restless now... After more investigation large chunks of the available episodes are in French. It would also be extremely expensive to buy whole year blocks.
Sunset Beach will have to suffice for now. And it has already shipped, so should be with me soon.
Thanks for letting us know. I have watched this show already as someone kindly copied it on DVD for me back in 2006. The quality of this one seems lots better though.
If it was available on an official DVD release I would buy it just to complete my SMG collection.
