VP did not always indulge Duffy and Hagman’s ego trip and had no desire to join the gang. I don’t blame her. Larry’s eccentricities were a little too contrived and Duffy’s sense of self importance can often be unattractive. I suspect VP was only too happy to leave the role of the giggling, eye rolling bystander to Linda Gray.

Maybe VP just got tired of Larry touching her t¡ts during the breaks (see video on YouTube) and Pat improvising slaps in her *ss (see lots of scenes between them). Actually, if she had Twitter, VP probably would have created the hashtag #metooandbeforeallofyou. And #nomorebuoysthankyou.

On another note, I wanted to say hi to the lawyers of VP who must be reading all the threads who are mentioning her now in case she thinks she´s obliged to make another "statement".

Victoria and other cast members have spoken of her deliberate tactic not to socialize from the outset as she believed this assisted her characterization playing Pam. Pam was an outsider about to be dropped into that wasp of a family. From what I've witnessed upon multiple viewings of Dallas it appeared to work.

It’s a neat rationalisation - but I never bought the idea that VP went all ‘ method’ to provide a more truthful performance. The Hagman and Duffy schtick probably irritated her and she wisely gave it a wide berth.

Not everyone can compliment VP 100% of the time.

If she wasn´t having fun with the pranks, then she hid it very well. Just go to minute 6´34 to see one of the proofs...

So it's possible that Linda Gray harbour's a bit of resentment & jealousy towards Victoria.

I can see why, the character of Sue Ellen whilst a great character wasn't pivotal to the core format of the show. The two most important characters were JR & Pam.

I wouldn't have thought Linda would be like that, but then again we're all human & nobodies perfect, not even me. :)

I’ve seen all the bloopers from the early years many times over. Yes - she joins in. It was very collegiate. I think the compulsory zaniness wore a little thin as the years passed. At least that is what I have been led to believe.

To be honest, Laurie, I also think so, and even moi would be quite sick of them after 9 long years...Though I´m sure that dear little innocent Sheree Wilson had a lot of fun with them when VP was gone (Katzman would agree...).:cool1

Oh, god.....the body language between VP and LG was hideous! LG could barely smile when she said, "That's sweet...," when VP said that she considered Jim Davis her own real-life father behind the scenes!

Well, we don't know that Linda was jealous of VP; she may just dislike her.

Sadly, the audience was left out of that fun.

Well, VP looked a great deal like Jim Davis' daughter who'd died in a car crash around 1970, so there was a thing there...

Well it is common knowledge I believe that Victoria Principal & Jim Davis were very close during his time on Dallas because she resembled his dead daughter Tara. They were both apparently very fond of each other.

When Jim passed away, inside the jacket he was buried with were a picture of his wife & daughter & a picture of Victoria Principal.

I (personally) think most of the surviving cast members (and some deceased ones) were/are green with envy!

It must've been very irritating to have Victoria's Pam be the focal discussion of virtually every interview in relation to that crappy new Dallas.

They might've wanted to forget Pam ever existed or had actually died onscreen back in 87 but the fans weren't going to let that happen. Pam's power lived on.

Yeah, that was hilarious when VP/Pam kept being mentioned when she wasn't even in the show!

I wish someone would say what went down at the reunion for the cast to break all ties with Victoria. Was it Linda that said she wouldn't appear on any more reunions with Victoria or was it Patrick? I do give both Linda and Victoria credit in that they haven't publicly trashed the other in interviews. Although, Victoria sometimes seems schizophrenic in her comments or lack of about her co-stars. I remember one interview in which she praised nearly all the original "Ewing" cast members and even included a comment about Mary Crosby, but omitted Linda all together. That seemed telling. But then around the time of nu-Dallas, she gave an interview in which she praised Linda for being a great actress and said she would sometimes observe Linda filming her scenes on times or days in which Victoria wasn't needed on set. I also don't remember Victoria talking much about Steve Kanaly, except for the fact they appeared together in the "Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean."

I don't particularly care about how Victoria and Linda get on in the real world.

As Pam and Sue Ellen they gave us some wonderful one on one scenes with fabulous onscreen chemistry.

Linda and Sheree get along like a house on fire in the real world but as Sue Ellen and April I found their scenes bland.
