They seemed to be hinting at Pan and Sue Ellen possibly going into business together had VP renewed her contract.
They seemed to have rushed Pam's accident and disappearance leading me to believe that they weren't prepared or it. Also, didn't they say that there wasn't a break in filming between Pam's car crash and resolution? It's almost impossible that there wasn't even a draft written that featured VP in the following season post car accident having her as a regular.
They began filming the 87-88 season right after 86-87 was complete, because there was a writers’ strike coming and they wanted to stockpile episodes prior to the strike. I remember one of the trades stating that “scripts are being rewritten to take her (Pam) out.”
Even if she didn’t leave for any other reason, the ‘86-‘87 season was so misogynistic that it was insulting....
