After dinner some the speeches start.

    Father of the Bride
Good Afternoon everyone. For those of you that don’t know me, I am the very proud father of this beautiful bride.

Ladies and gentlemen I should probably make you aware from the very start that I lack any real practical experience as a speaker.

I hope you will forgive me therefore if this speech is not as professional as the ones that are to follow as clearly this is a new experience for me.

I would like to begin by welcoming you all today and saying a big thank you from all of us on this table for taking the time and effort to join with us to celebrate Emelee and Brad’s wedding. We know that many of you have made long journeys to be here today and we hope you have a great time in these wonderful surroundings.

Emelee...... there have been only three times in my life when I have been absolutely speechless. One was the moment I first laid eyes on your Mum all those years ago, the second was when I saw you today looking absolutely stunning in your wedding dress and the third was the day you were born.

Now I believe that tradition dictates that a dad should share a few anecdotes about his daughter. I know that Emelee is particularly nervous about what I may say in this next part of my speech. After all it is part of a father’s job description to embarrass his children and I am particularly talented at it. But you can relax Emelee I’ll wait until we are on the dance floor before I start today.

It’s is hard though on a day like today not think back to the day she was born. I can still picture it now ladies and gentlemen as if it were yesterday. My beautiful wife in the delivery room absolutely exhausted after many hours of labour, two midwives encouraging and cajoling her to give one last push and I sat trying to help but Emelee arrived, and it was the most amazing moment of our lives.

When preparing for this speech I looked through some old photographs of the kids for inspiration. One in particular stood out from the others. It was a picture of our little girl lying on a rug, in front of the fire, dribbling, gurgling and trying to take a few wobbly steps. She was such a precious child.

Speaking of special Emelee. Your Mum and I are acutely aware of just how blessed we have been to have you in our lives and we hope you are aware just exactly how much we love you and how very proud we are of the lovely young lady you have become. It has been an absolute joy for both your mum and me to watch a very talkative, extremely inquisitive and often clumsy little girl develop into the very beautiful, clever, compassionate and extremely loving young lady that it was my absolute honour and privilege to escort down the aisle today.

Thankfully she does seem to have inherited most of her better traits from her mum and I am told only a few bad habits from her dad. You seemed to have got your mums kind nature and good looks and from me....well.......my stubbornness.

Now like most fathers I was extremely protective of my girls and prepared to fend off any potential suitors. I took the view that no man was good enough for my girl and was in favour of capital punishment for anyone who tried to take them away from me. And so it was in this welcoming atmosphere of open mindedness that we were first introduced to Brad.

He was polite, very well mannered and, damn it, an extremely likeable young man.

You often wonder as a parent just how well your children will turn out. You wonder what sort of life decisions they will make especially those that you have no control over. What friends will they choose? Who will they pick as a partner to share their life with? Will that person love and care for them as well as you would? Will you approve?

Well for what it’s worth Emelee your Mum and I think you have made a cracking choice.

Sticking with tradition I think at this point that I am also supposed to pass on some worldly advice to my new son in law to help him survive.... sorry enjoy......... his new marital status.

Well Brad I have two bits of advice that I hope you will find of use.

The first is really to enjoy your honeymoon period and if you’re not sure what this is let me explain. This is the time in your marriage between “I do” and “you’d better”

The second is specifically based upon knowing my women as I do. I believe the words “Yes love of course you can buy it” may prove beneficial in the years to come in keeping her happy.

Ladies and Gentlemen I think I’m getting close to outstaying my welcome and I can see both the groom and best man eager to get on with their speeches.

I do however have one final very pleasurable responsibility to fulfil.

Emelee and Brad, May your marriage be a truly happy one, may you begin with an unforgettable honeymoon in Hawaii and may you have a long and wonderful life together.

It is my very great pleasure to propose the first toast to the happy couple. So could I ask you please be upstanding and raise your glasses to the Bride and Groom.

Everyone raises their glass of champagne to them

    Groom’s speech
Welcome everyone to our wedding, it really does mean a great deal to both me and Emelee for you all to be here. We know a lot of you have travelled a long way to be here today, so we hope you today is enjoyable for you as it is special to us.
We would like to thank our parents for their support for this wedding - it means a great deal to us and we really couldn’t have done it without you.
I would like to thank the bridesmaids for all of their help towards today. They look stunning today as well as I'm sure you'll all agree .
So now I'd like to say a few words about the star of the show, and my wife, Emelee. Doesn’t she look incredible today? You look absolutely gorgeous, and I feel so lucky to be married to you.
You're my soul mate and my best friend. Loving you has taught me about being positive, cheerful and caring, like you are.
Everyone raises their glasses for a toast.

Their are more speeches than the dancing begins.

    Emelee and Brad’s first dance
The song “Savage Garden “ I Knew I loved You❤️

After Emelee dances with her Father
    Song “Daddy’s Angel”

Than the Bride and Groom, Bridemaids and Ushers all dance to.
Stevie Wonder-Signed sealed delivered, I’m yours

Everyone danced the evening away. So many amazing songs were played by some of Emelee and Brad’s favourite singers.

The night was coming to a end the Bride and Groom cut the beautiful cake.

They walk around talking to the guests, handing out cake taking photos .

It is now the time for the last dance.
They dance to Etta James “At last”

    https://youtu.be/nqS2zYoDb34

The song ends they get ready to leave as the guest follow them outside throwing rice, and giving them a hug as they get into the limousine to spend a night at a hotel, because in the morning they are going on their honeymoon to Hawaii.

We got to see the floating Lantern Festival which was beautiful.

We went to Valcano National Park
    [IMG]

We did some horseback riding too.

We ate at some of the nicest places.

We went shopping but basically for souvenirs for our family, and friends. We did get stuff for ourselves too.

I grabbed a few things for my Niece and Nephews at Disney.

We bought ourselves this cute little couple.

Emelee picked up some souvenirs for her students.

We got Neo and Ziggy these shirts, let’s hope we can get a photo of them wearing them when we get back home.

The last couple of days we spend relaxing at the hotel. We walked on the beach, talked, enjoyed the tropical drinks.

We knew our honeymoon was coming to a end but getting back to our home, and family was something we looked forward too. We would have to get back to work but we both loved our jobs so much.

We both knew we wanted to travel so we knew we would travel again in the near future.

We flew home, and we arrived at our home. We were exhausted but looking around we knew our lives together has just started. We were in love, and so happy to be home with our dogs, and see what is next in our life. It could only be good things because we both finally found our sole mate, and everything just felt so perfect.

I hope you enjoyed what I planned for you Emelee.

*swoon* What an awesome wedding. I've never been much for traditional weddings, but I would definitely say "I do" to this wedding. That gown is so stunning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Excellent gown taste, Brad! And I love rose gold. Food looks delicious.

    And, I have to add....
I know this is a game and all, but THANK YOU for the father of the bride speech. In real life, my father would never make such a speech. He is absolutely lousy at showing emotions. He's never even said "I love you" or "I am proud of you". I know that he loves me and all that, but I don't hold out any hopes of ever hearing him say it. With this speech you wrote, you kinda made him say it, through you. Cause I imagined dad making this speech as I read it. It was very emotional. My eyes were actually tearing up and I had to go get a hanky. Thank you.

I think it's a geographical thing. It's perfectly normal in America, but those who live in the Northern European countries can whistle for it.

You could suggest when the time comes he copies his speech from this website, it clearly works for some people, although when it's cut and pasted from the internet you do wonder how sincere it is.
