You too? Nice choice. I pop out for little strolls along canals, fields, farms, public pathways, through nature reserves and along disused railway lines. Some of these routes are next to Q-Guild butchers and supermarkets. The butchers sell pheasants, partridges and game pies, huntsmans pies, ploughman’s pies, goose breast and other pleasures. Some of the butchers also sell cakes and tarts and fruit pies. And bread, as well as the venison pate to spread on it. Of course, moderate activity also means that I get rather peckish.

Which is why I’m having a Gressingham Duck for dinner. All to myself. I have to keep my strength up.

I was still feeling hungry after the Duck, rice goose fat potatoes and other vegetable thingies. So I had a Chicken & Ham & Cider pie, four kangaroo leg steaks, some toasted smoked venison & duck sandwiches and some Neapolitan ice cream and a bit of Black Forest Gateau to follow. And 537g of Lindt Lindor

Oh dear. Yesterday, after munching myself through all thirteen servings of another unsmoked Muscovado and Orange Gammon Joint (1.3kg/1833 calories), I was still famished. Even after Venison Steaks (247 calories) and rice (422 calories), I was still 2887 calories under budget, after one of my more lively days. Perhaps I should have larger meals.

I’m having a Five Bird Roast tonight. Serves 8, it says on the box. Disappointingly, no pheasant in it but the goose and duck will cheer me up. So I’ll snack on that. And the large-size Lindt Lindor Easter Egg.
