You just gave me a better idea for Trump's nickname: the Golden Menace.

I think she's already in a group for women in loveless marriages. It's called the Trump's Wives Club. Ivana was in a movie all about it a few years back:

'SNL' targets Melania Trump's 'Be Best' campaign

It was a good week for President Donald Trump, according to "SNL" staple "Weekend Update," but not so for his wife.

First lady Melania Trump rolled out her "Be Best" campaign earlier in the week, a children-focused policy platform that targets bullying, drug use and suicide. It did not spare her from being a target of "Weekend Update" anchor Michael Che, however.

"Melania Trump, or as I've been calling her, sexy Michael Jackson, unveiled her 'Be Best' campaign -- as in, it would be best if you got a divorce."

The "sexy Michael Jackson" comment drew a mixed reaction of applause and groans.
Even for having a good week, Trump wasn't spared some criticism.

"I have to admit, President Trump had a pretty good week," Colin Jost said. "He showed up at the airport [to greet the North Korea prisoners] and didn't say, 'Wait I thought they were American?'"

Trump also claimed to break the 3 a.m. ratings record in the press conference following the prisoners' return, "which is not true, the 3 a.m. ratings record was set by liberals on election night hoping they were being pranked," Jost joked.

    I dunno
Eh, I don't get the hate for Melania. It's pretty obvious she married Trump with the thought of being a trophy wife for a while, divorce him once the payments would get good and spend her late 40s in Europe with hot young pool boys. Obviously, him becoming president put a wrench in those plans.

Who cares. She's part of the Trump Crime Family now. As such, she peddled his nasty birther stuff. So, when the feds come knockin', she deserves no sympathy along with the rest of that awful criminal cabal.

By the way, her "benign kidney procedure" which kept her in the hospital all week is very suspicious. Whatever it really was (bleeding fake boobs?), you can be sure about one thing -- "the healthiest person to ever run for President" can never be relied upon to tell the truth. About health or... anything.

Where's Melania? First Lady Hasn't Been Seen in 2 Weeks, Even as President Says She's 'Right There'

First Lady Melania Trump has been completely unseen in public since returning home from the hospital last Saturday — but her husband insists she still remains “right there.”

The 48-year-old has not been spotted since Thursday, May 10, when she stood next to her husband to welcome home three Americans at Joint Base Andrews, according to the Washington Post.

Four days later, her office made the surprise announcement that the first lady had undergone a “successful” kidney procedure, but would remain hospitalized for the remainder of the week.

She returned home May 19, but was completely out of the spotlight this week, which the Post notes is an “unusually long absence” for even the most private presidential spouses.

But her time away from the public did not seem to perturb her husband, President Donald Trump, who instead appeared to insist that she was quite close to gathered reporters at the White House Friday morning as he prepared to board Marine One and travel to Annapolis, Maryland, for the U.S. Naval Academy graduation ceremony.

When a reporter asked about the first lady’s health, he pointed up toward the second floor of the White House from the south entrance and replied, “She’s doing great. Right there. She’s doing great. She’s looking at us, right there.”

But as reporters turned to follow his outstretched figure, they saw no sign of his wife, reports the Post.

The first lady’s spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham, tells PEOPLE that Melania Trump “is doing very well and has been participating in several internal meetings with her staff to plan upcoming events.”

But her return to public life remains a mystery — Grisham did not specifically say when she would be seen again — as does the first lady’s unusually long hospital stay for a “successful” kidney embolization.

Leading medical experts who spoke with The New York Times said they would consider a week-long hospital stay unusual in typical cases of this procedure.

“It’s like literally an outpatient procedure,” said Dr. Eleanor D. Lederer, a professor at the University of Louisville School of Medicine and past president of the American Society of Nephrology. “You go in, you have it done, you lie in bed for a while to keep the blood vessel from bleeding and then you go home.”

But Dr. Jeffrey Cadeddu, a professor of urology and radiology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, said her hospital stay has most likely been extended due to her position.

“That’s because she is the first lady,” he said. “If it was you, you’d be in and out in a day, I promise.”

Melania Trump hasn't appeared in public for 19 days

Washington (CNN) — It's been 19 days since the public has laid eyes on first lady Melania Trump.

In the early hours of May 10, Trump welcomed home three American hostages from North Korea, accompanying President Donald Trump to greet them on arrival at Joint Base Andrews; it would be the last time public appearance by the first lady for more than two weeks. Four days later, Trump was checked in to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for what her spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham in a press release described as, "an embolization procedure to treat a benign kidney condition."

That statement was released post-procedure, allowing Grisham to add that it was "successful and there were no complications."

Yet 15 days later, the most anyone has heard from Trump has come via Twitter, with just one addressing her medical procedure.

"A sincere thank you to Walter Reed Medical Unit @WRBethesda & to all who have send good wishes & prayers! I am feeling great & look forward to getting back home @WhiteHouse soon.

Since her almost week-long hospital stay, Trump has also tweeted about the school shooting in Santa Fe, Texas; the Navy SEAL who was awarded the Medal of Honor at a White House ceremony, which she did not attend, on May 24; and most recently, a tweet supporting the military in honor of Memorial Day.

Still, conspiracy theorists abound. Is the first lady OK, asks Twitter? Where is she? Why the long disappearance from public view?

Trump is just fine, it's the internet who's overreacting, according to Grisham.

"Sadly, we deal with conspiracy theories all the time -- so this is nothing new, just more silly nonsense," said Grisham, brushing off a rumor making the rounds that Trump has moved back to New York City.

    Intensely private

Perhaps the concern or speculation also masks some frustration. After all, before her surprise -- to the public, at least -- medical procedure, they had seen quite a good deal of the first lady, who is often described as intensely private.

Nonetheless, she outshone the President, and the French President and first lady, in late-April, wearing a scene-stealing white hat to an official South Lawn arrival ceremony, garnering comparisons to Beyoncé.

She also put on the Trump administration's first State Dinner, for France, overseeing all of the decisions for the evening, from the White House Kitchen Garden herbs served as part of the meal to the silver, china, tablecloths and seat cushions. Wearing a sparkling Chanel Haute Couture gown, Trump was every inch appearing as a comfortable and capable first lady, almost 16 months into her tenure.

Results of a CNN poll conducted the following week confirmed just that -- the first lady was up 10 points to 57% in her favorability rating, making her again the most liked member of the Trump administration. She followed up her State Dinner appearance with the unveiling of "Be Best," her official platform. During her 11-minute speech, she underlined her commitment to spreading a message of social media kindness, as the President sat feet from his wife in the front row.

In short, she was on a roll.

    Her own pace

However, in the grand scope of Trump's first lady schedule, a 19-day break, while long, isn't entirely out of the realm of possibility. She is one of the most independent first ladies in recent history, several times in the past year separating herself from her husband's travel plans, outings, rallies and, on more than one occasion, motorcades.

Trump has demonstrated she can and does like to do things at her own pace, taking months to hire a small but loyal staff -- less than half the size of typical East Wing employment rosters -- and taking on a rather broad range of causes under the vast umbrella of "helping children."

She also tweets when she feels like it, without waiting -- or even asking -- for West Wing approval or coordination.

"They've never been joined at the hip," one White House official told CNN, explaining the first lady's wish to separate her individuality and character from that of her husband. "She has always been independent."

Grisham said the disappearance from the public eye isn't unusual.

"I wouldn't characterize this as a long absence. She was hospitalized for almost a week and is now home and recovering. She has had several meetings internally with staff and will continue to do so this week."

In 2007, after a 2.5-hour, outpatient procedure at George Washington University Hospital to relieve pinched nerves in her neck, former first lady Laura Bush spent about a week with nothing on her official schedule, according to her former chief of staff, Anita McBride.

Trump may yet appear publicly over the next few days and she has remained occupied figuring out details for two White House events coming up on the calendar: the annual Congressional Picnic in June and July 4 events.

Apparently Melania has recently tweeted that she is "working hard on behalf of children & the American people". Does anyone know exactly what work she is doing on their behalf?

Melania Trump unseen in public for 22 days as she skips Camp David trip

Melania Trump will not join her husband at the Camp David presidential retreat this weekend, extending to 22 days the time since she last appeared in public.

The First Lady was last seen on May 10 and underwent surgery for a “benign” kidney issue on May 14, spending a few days in hospital before being released.

Mrs Trump’s lack of appearance at events she would normally be expected to attend has created headlines in the US media and triggered conspiracy theories.

She addressed them on Wednesday, tweeting: "I see the media is working overtime speculating where I am & what I'm doing.

“Rest assured, I'm here at the White House [with] my family, feeling great, & working hard on behalf of children & the American people!”

Donald Trump will be spending the weekend at Camp David – a location he rarely attends, preferring instead his Florida resort Mar-a-lago.

But the White House confirmed that Mrs Trump will not be with him. News of Mrs Trump’s operation last month was broken by a spokesman for the First Lady.

There had been no public signs before the statement dropped that she had been unwell.

Mrs Trump’s communications director said at the time that the First Lady “underwent an embolisation procedure to treat a benign kidney condition".

She said “the procedure was successful and there were no complications” and added: “The First Lady looks forward to a full recovery so she can continue her work on behalf of children everywhere.”

Mrs Trump was treated at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on the edge of Washington. It is unclear when she will next appear at a public event.

Missing Melania Trump barely makes news – things are getting weirder
We’re so used to bizarre behavior from the Trump administration that a missing first lady barely registers as strange.

I am not one for conspiracy theories, and so I don’t find the guesses flying around the lefty internet about Melania Trump’s whereabouts particularly convincing. But I am very interested in double standards – and I find it hard to believe that if Michelle Obama disappeared from the public eye for nearly a month that there wouldn’t be some sort of sustained public inquiry.

It’s fun to imagine that Melania – who has been memed endlessly because of her apparent distaste for the president – has finally flown the coop and left her notoriously misogynist husband. And who knows, maybe she has.

But the reasons behind her lack of public appearances are less interesting to me than the fact that we’re so used to bizarre and out-of-bounds behavior from this administration that something like a missing first lady barely makes the grade for news coverage.

Things are weird, my friends. And they’re only going to get weirder.

Trump Boys Construct Fake Melania For Lonely Father To Spend Time With

    upload_2018-6-2_13-4-50.jpeg

WASHINGTON—Adding the finishing touches of two earrings made of twisted paper clips and a mop head hastily colored brown with magic marker, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump spent several hours constructing a life-sized fake Melania Trump for their lonely father to spend time with, White House sources confirmed Friday. “There, that’s perfect—Dad’s gonna be so happy to have this new Mommy to be married to until our old Mommy comes back,” said Eric Trump, drawing his best approximation of Melania Trump’s facial features on a paper plate while his brother stapled a floor-length Dior evening gown to a stack of throw pillows roughly the height of the absent first lady. “We spent a whole bunch of time on it, and it definitely shows. I bet Dad won’t even be able to tell the difference.” At press time, the Trump boys were duct-taping a paperback copy of Animorphs #28 to the doll’s inflated rubber glove hands in preparation for story time.

    I think she's either:

    a) still recovering from a plastic surgery, which in this case she underwent instead of that kidney surgery they said she had 3 weeks ago, or

    b) heavily sedated following a meltdown, unable to cope with the role of the first lady or disgusted by the idea of being forced to remain married to the Dotard for the duration of his presidency, or

    c) in New York with son Barron, having fled the White House, in the process of secretly divorcing Donnie Two Scoops, or

    d) her one-year contract for playing the first lady is up -- remember she joined Don the Con a few months after the inauguration, about this time last year? -- and they still haven't been able to agree on terms for contract renewal - she wants A LOT of money to continue the charade, or

    e) they're purposely hiding her to distract from Cheeto's other more serious, criminal scandals, so they can later bring her back and shout "See?! It was all FAKE NEWS! Don't believe the FAKE MEDIA!"

Have I missed any other options?

Why Melania Trump's vanishing act matters
The disappearance of a first lady means that for now, the White House is playing without a full roster.

WASHINGTON — First Lady Melania Trump has all but vanished.

She hasn't been seen with President Donald Trump at a public event as since May 10, four days before she underwent surgery for a kidney problem. She won't be at her husband's side for the G-7 economic meeting in Quebec City later this week, and she's not going to Singapore for his historic nuclear disarmament summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

The first lady is expected to join the president at an event for Gold Star military families at the White House Monday — but it's closed to the press.

All of this has touched off a set of conspiracy theories, and a mini culture war, over Melania Trump's whereabouts, her physical condition and the status of her relationship with the president. And it's raised the question of the significance of the first lady to the president's state of mind and the functioning of the White House.

Amid the speculation, Melania Trump's account tweeted last week.

Not only did that not work to quell the chatter, but the language of the tweet — which mirrored President Trump's rhetorical tics — kicked off a new round of speculation about whether it had been written by her husband or someone who writes for him.

The reason Melania Trump has been out of the public eye lately — and won't travel to Quebec City or Singapore — could be as simple as her recovery from the surgery and a desire to avoid blood clotting on post-surgery flights.

But for the left, there's a lot of appeal to the idea that the first lady has essentially been held hostage by her husband's presidency — unable to get away from him or the public spotlight — while he embarrasses her.

Donald Trump acknowledged earlier this year that he compensated lawyer Michael Cohen for a hush payment to the adult film actress and director who says she had an affair with Trump while he was married to Melania. She has repeatedly rebuffed her husband's attempts to hold her hand in public.

She would hardly be the only first lady to feel trapped by the position.

As Kate Anderson Brower writes in her book "First Women: The Grace and Power of America's Modern First Ladies," it's been a common sentiment since the founding of the nation.

"Martha Washington called herself a 'state prisoner,'" Brower writes. "Jacqueline Kennedy proclaimed: 'The one thing I do not want to be called is 'First Lady.' It sounds like a saddle horse.' And Michelle Obama says that living in the White House is like living in a 'really nice prison.'"

Modern first ladies have typically taken on a public policy role within a position that is undefined by the Constitution or federal law. But they have always been influential with their husbands — and often with lawmakers, administration officials and foreign dignitaries.

So the disappearance of a first lady means the White House is playing without a full roster for now, which is more meaningful in some situations than in others.

Anita McBride, who was chief of staff to First Lady Laura Bush, said there's a difference between the G-7, a conference that Melania Trump attended last year in Italy, and the nuclear talks.

"I don't see any reason why she should or would need to go to Singapore for the North Korea summit," she said. "It would seem premature to me that our two countries are even at that point of a relationship or friendship that requires building bridges through and with the spouse. North Korea has a long way to go there."

On the other hand, McBride said, there are opportunities for the first lady to advance American interests at an event like the G-7, where longstanding relationships between world leaders and their families develop.

"There is no requirement that a spouse attend the global meetings and it is certainly only up to her what goes on her schedule, but having said that, it does make a difference to have the wife of the American president at these events," she said. "Besides the opportunity to keep building relationships with the other spouses, it's helpful in building relationships with the leaders too."

At a time when he's slapped allies with new tariffs, President Trump could use all the help he can get on that score. But for the moment, one of his chief diplomatic assets is sticking to the sidelines.

Why 'Stubborn' Melania Trump Skipped Super Bowl Consolation Rally But Will Attend Hurricane Briefing

First Lady Melania Trump is being choosy about her appearances amid a 26-days-and-counting disappearance from the public eye.

After reemerging Monday evening at a closed-press White House ceremony to honor Gold Star families, Mrs. Trump, 48, opted out of her husband’s “Celebration of America” event on Tuesday. (President Trump planned the event at the White House to replace an Eagles Super Bowl celebration after rescinding his invitation to the team over a disagreement involving the national anthem.)

Mrs. Trump’s spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham, tells PEOPLE that Mrs. Trump had meetings on Tuesday so she was unable to attend the event. But Grisham confirmed that the first lady would join her husband on Wednesday at FEMA Headquarters in Washington, D.C., for a briefing on hurricane preparedness.

Given that the Gold Star families reception on Monday evening was closed to the press, the hurricane briefing will mark the first lady’s official first public outing since before undergoing a successful kidney procedure on May 14.

Throughout her unprecedented absence, there was national speculation about the first lady’s whereabouts — and why she didn’t simply appear in public to quash the rumors once and for all.

Even as her husband and stepdaughter Ivanka hosted a “Sports and Fitness Day” event at the White House last week, the first lady remained out of sight and instead chose to send out a tweet shutting down conspiracy theories about her ongoing absence.

“I see the media is working overtime speculating where I am & what I’m doing. Rest assured, I’m here at the @WhiteHouse w my family, feeling great, & working hard on behalf of children & the American people!” she tweeted, presumably from the First Family’s second-floor private quarters while her husband, hundreds of visitors and dozens of White House reporters were assembled on the South Lawn just feet below.

But the tweet did little to quell the rumor mill, and the way it was worded even sparked new speculation that the tweet had been written not by the first lady but by her husband.

Freelance reporter Yashar Ali credits Mrs. Trump’s “stubborn” streak as the reason she’s refused to show her face in public for so long.

“Something lost about @FLOTUS in all of this Twitter talk…she is intensely private (yes, even though she’s a Trump),” he tweeted Sunday. “People close to her have often told me of how stubborn she can be about things like this. A simple statement could end speculation but she refuses to give in.”

Sources have also told PEOPLE in the past of Mrs. Trump’s intensely private nature, saying she “hates” her lifestyle at the White House and longs for the simplicity and relative anonymity of her past life in New York.

Though she’ll be stepping out in public on Wednesday, Mrs. Trump won’t attend the G7 summit in Canada this week with the president, nor go on a June 12 trip to Singapore for a North Korea meeting, her spokesperson told NBC News.

Anita McBride, former chief of staff to First Lady Laura Bush, previously told PEOPLE that beyond sending well wishes following Mrs. Trump’s procedure, American citizens should respect and understand that the first lady’s health “should be her personal business [because] she’s not the president.”

But the Washington Post‘s Margaret Sullivan argues in a new op-ed that “Actually, Melania, your disappearance is a legitimate news story.”

“She’s a public figure, whose staff and security cost taxpayers millions of dollars a year. When she announces her pro-kids campaign or wears a statement white chapeau or attends a state dinner, news coverage is expected,” Sullivan writes. “It comes with the territory, whether that territory is something she sought or not. And so, too, when she does something highly unusual, such as drop off the scene altogether.”

Sullivan also argues that as the Trump White House — including the first lady — continues to knock down “well-established norms of how the government and the public … behave toward one another,” the media has a responsibility to cover that erosion.

“So, Melania, we’ll be looking for you,” Sullivan concludes. “And there’s nothing wrong with that.”

Melania Trump Retorts Rudy Giuliani's Comment That 'She Believes Husband' About Affair with Stormy Daniels

Rudy Giuliani revealed his thoughts about Donald Trump‘s alleged affair with Stormy Daniels — and first lady Melania put Giuliani in his place.

At an event in Tel Aviv on Wednesday, Giuliani, an attorney for the president, insinuated that Melania didn’t believe that the president had an affair with Daniels. “She believes her husband, and she knows it’s untrue,” Giuliani said.

Following Giuliani’s remarks, Stephanie Grisham, a White House rep for Mrs. Trump and East Wing communications director, released a statement to PEOPLE on Thursday: “I don’t believe Mrs. Trump has ever discussed her thoughts on anything with Mr. Giuliani.”

Though Melania, herself, has yet to publicly address the reports of Donald’s alleged extramarital occurrences with porn star Daniels, Grisham’s rebuke suggests that Giuliani does not directly communicate with Melania.

In January, Daniels claimed she had an affair with Trump in 2006 and was paid $130,000 by Trump and his longtime lawyer Michael Cohen.

Although Trump and the White House has denied the affair, a source close to Melania previously told PEOPLE that the first lady is “furious” over the nonstop controversies engulfing the White House and her husband’s presidency.

“What’s happening is exactly what she didn’t want to happen,” the source said. “They’ve literally become like the Kardashians: scandals, divorces, headlines.”

The statement from Mrs. Trump’s office comes a day after her husband addressed the media during her first public appearance in 27 days after she was last seen in public on May 10, just four days before undergoing a kidney procedure.

During a briefing on hurricane preparedness at FEMA Headquarters in Washington, D.C., the commander-in-chief defended his wife against the “vicious” media who had previously speculated that she had disappeared because she had plastic surgery, or because she was planning to divorce her husband, or because she was hiding spousal abuse.

Meanwhile, Melania was not the only one who Giuliani went after in Tel Aviv.

The former mayor of New York City was blasted as a “misogynist” and an “absolute pig” for his attempt to discredit Daniels after he said he doesn’t “respect” the adult film actress because she is a porn star who “sells her body for sexual exploitation.”

“I respect all human beings. I even have to respect criminals. But I’m sorry, I don’t respect a porn star the way I respect a career women or a women of substance or a woman who has great respect for herself as a women and as a person and isn’t going to sell her body for sexual exploitation,” Giuliani said.

On Wednesday, Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, filed another lawsuit alleging that her former lawyer Keith Davidson colluded with Trump attorney Michael Cohen to cover up her alleged affair with the president.
