Okay, i never heard her version of MacArthur Park but i will check that one out, i love her version of "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" too she sounds amazing with that song.

Haha yes I know what you mean, because if you buy as much music as we all do here on this forum, and you do not longer know what you have already bought, it can make you really grazy sometimes, but it's a nice way of being grazy hihi. :D

You have a job @Mel O'Drama?, congratulations on new job @Mel O'Drama, I hope it is a job with some great future opportunities. :bh:

    Hope you enjoy it, PC.

    She certainly does.

Oh yes indeed. More and more these days I need to check if I already have an album to make sure I don't buy twice. And it doesn't always work.

Oops. I think that was my turn of phrase. What I meant was it's really difficult to tell one Il Divo album from another as to me they're very similar. But thanks for the kind thoughts PC. :rainbow:

Still, it would be nice getting paid for cataloguing and examining your own collection. Maybe replace a scuffed jewel case here and there (on expenses, of course).

That would be a dream job, Willie. All it needs is a nice fancy title and I'm in.

Executeur Collectionaire? I like the sound of it, it even sounds very important.

Oh yes. Me too. That's perfect.

As well it should. There is no more important job than keeping an orderly music collection.

I just heard the song on Youtube, she really made it her own and i really loved it, thanks. :)

    Yes indeed she does. ;-)

For the most part i i would say 90% i know what i have in my collection, but the rest is just doubtful.

I understand what you mean, some album covers from Il Divo are very similar to each other, but mostly i'll check the tracklist and then i know if i have the cd or not. ;)

You're welcom, i wish i could hire you as a "Executeur Collectionair". :)

I thought you'd enjoy it, PC, and I'm glad you did.

Yes - some of those covers are quite similar. It was actually the tracklist that confused me with this one, because I already had an Il Divo greatest hits album which had many of the tracks from the album.

Oh my. So do I, PC. How exciting would that be?! :cool1

Yes i did enjoy it. ;)

I don't have the Greatest Hits album yet but it sounds like a great album to have, i also know now i only own the first three albums of Il Divo, so i'm a little behind buying their cd's.

Hih yes that would be exciting @Mel O'Drama, I wish I could turn my hobby into a well-paid job, how wonderful that would be. I always wanted to work in a record / CD store, but unfortunately they disappear like snow in the sun. :)

The legacy of these obscure and ignored gems must be preserved, and the best way to do it is to put them all in one collection - which just happens to be mine.
Altruism is my middle name, they say.

Jesus Christ Superstar: A Resurrection ~ The Indigo Girls and others

I don't know much about the Indigo Girls but, as I've mentioned before, I have multiple versions of Jesus Christ Superstar and when I saw this I thought it would make an interesting addition to the collection. It's received mixed reviews on Amazon to say the least.

The novelty of a woman singing the part of Jesus wears off more quickly than you might expect. Instead I found myself fascinated by the variations in arrangements and instrumentation. Some of the songs hew fairly closely to the original but others go in quite a different way - no doubt made possible by the fact that Andrew Lloyd Webber is not in control.

All I can say is that if you're looking for the definitive JCS, this is not it. But if you're already familiar with the show and are open to an unusual interpretation then this is well worth a listen.
