Did anybody else think it odd that the kitchen in the mansion wasn't shown again after one 2nd season episode? Surely it would have been interesting watching Chao-Li preparing say eggs benedict, making all that tea and cooking a Chinese storm. Angela referred to her kitchen at least once when she told Maggie that she would cook her an omelette. Now that I would liked to have seen.

I can't recall seeing the kitchen but so it must have been a set that wasn't used that often. I guess after they brought in new characters such as Richard, they had to create more studio sets to accommodate his scenes (his home, his office, the Globe boardroom, etc.) so they no longer had room for a kitchen.

Angela told Maggie she would make her an omelette? :omg: They should have done that scene, I always liked when they showed different and unexpected sides to Angela's character.

I doubt that she or Chao-Li either would bother to cook anything at all. They had all those unnamed maids walking around the house, maybe they prepared the meals...or maybe Chao-Li just found this one day in the supermarket in Chinatown:

    ...Or called here!
However, I can see Emma trying to learn how to cook an omelette...and making this instead:

(Anna Rossini and Melissa would be happy to help her...)

As I recall, it was an episode directed by Foxworth and it appeared to have been a real kitchen in a real house. And I rather liked it... They should have built a kitchen on-set for the mansion -- it seemed like a room the show would have had. Rustic and wonderful. (Instead, they built that conservatory off the study where the kitchen logically would be.

I always imagine this as a kind of a souped-up version of the Giobertis' kitchen.

The omission of the kitchen was rather peculiar, given that the other three famous prime time shows of the era had some really good scenes in this particular location. Snarky IMHO the kitchen photo you posted in your first reply would have been very appropriate as a set template, for the Falcon Crest mansion.

Dinner is now served, in the Gioberti castle. Glamorous vintners' Terri and Melissa are purring up, for a catfight, (a scene from season 4, 1984 - '85):

Melissa says to Mrs. Miller (Maggie and Chase's maid): "The champagne chicken is delicious. You'll have to give me your recipe sometime."

    Mrs. Miller smiles.

Terri seizes the moment, with a bitchy comment: "Well, when you decide to warm up your oven, let us know. I'll evacuate the area."

Melissa doesn't let her away with what she said: "Then you better evacuate the area while you have the chance because my oven is always warm."

The one kitchen scene was between Melissa and Lance. Is that correct?
