Discussion in 'Falcon Crest' started by Arlene Halloran, Oct 3, 2016.
Who among the guest stars, either stunt casting or whatever reason made the most impact?
I voted for Cesar Romero, he was such a good actor and loved him as role of Peter Stavros. He was a great addition to the show.
Well at least his letter to Angela turned everything upside down.
Apart from Lana Turner I'd say Kim Novak, since they managed to create a season-long storyline for her character.
I also vote for Novak... Her storyline affected most characters on Falcon Crest for the entire season. It was very thrilling and unexpected... Loved it...
Lana because her character was the fuel for a quite a bit, even in death.
For all that it was hyped to be and then the delivery I choose Lana.
Jacqueline is returning to France. She has just made one of her few guest appearances, in the Tuscany Valley, since she took Chase away, 30 years ago. This particular occasion has been her first and of course she gets involved in her ex husband’s death mystery, much to Angela’s resentment. Chase, Maggie, Cole and Vicki are with her, at the airport, to say their goodbyes, (a scene from season 1, 1981-‘82):
Jacqueline hugs her grand children, as Vicki says,
“You know how much I have enjoyed having you here Jacqueline. I’m really gonna miss you!”
Cole: “Me too! We are all gonna miss you.”
Maggie and Chase are having a drink, in the departure lounge.
Maggie: “Well she’s leaving. Who knows when you’ll get the chance to talk to her again?”
Jacqueline: “Darling if there is anything I can do. If you need some cash.”
Chase: “No thanks!”
Jacqueline: “But I can give you anything you want.”
Chase: “Money is not what I want. What I want is…”
Chase pauses and then continues, “To say you don’t have to leave you know, you can stay here with us.”
Jacqueline: “You mean that?”
Chase: “Sure, you can! We can be a family again.”
Jacqueline: “Thank you! I have waited so long to hear that.”
Chase: “I have probably waited too long to say it. We haven’t had much of a chance to talk lately.”
Jacqueline: “It’s been longer than lately.”
Chase chuckles and says, “Yeah I know. I’ve resented you for so long, for taking me away.”
Jacqueline sadly says, “But you’re back now and you have a new home. So forgive me!”
Mother and son hug, as Chase chuckles again, while saying', “I love you!”
Jacqueline: “And I love you! That’s really the reason I came here you know, to tell you that and that I want us to be a family again.”
Chase: “Why haven’t we been able to talk like this before, when I was younger?”
Jacqueline: “I don’t know I suppose we didn’t like each other very much. Never gave each other a chance.”
Chase: “Well we are going to have to change that and make more chances, for ourselves. You’re quite a likeable lady, you know.”
Jacqueline: “Well I should be I raised you.”
The boarding time to Charles de Gaulle is announced, over the loud speaker.
Jacqueline: “Darling if there is anything I can do. If I could help.”
Chase: “That would mean you would have to come back to Falcon Crest and Angela would still be here.”
Jacqueline: “Ah but so would you and Maggie, my family.”
Mother and son hug.
Jacqueline: “Oh darling!”
She blows him a kiss and goes through the departure gate.
They hug and Jacqueline says, “Au revoir,” blowing a kiss.
Me too Angela!
Probably the one and only Miss Turner.
Lana Turner. I think willie oleson once said that Jacqueline Perrault was, at least potentially, the soap mother to end all soap mothers --- and was worth even more to the show dead than alive. Her chancrid, scandalous background of baby stealing, baby selling, nazi bedding, and general, all-around nefarious whoring during and after WW2 provided the fuel and much of the backstory for FALCON CREST.
Unfortunately, as the show because less focused as it progressed, the writers seemed to lose touch with the fact they had this bottomless resource.
Yes, I think she is the only soap character who could be linked to all the other soaps in a plausible way.
Ahhh, so you think the treasure buried under the Carrington estate is part of the Reibmann Collection?
And that some of it is in the attic at Southfork?
Blake and Jacqueline looking for a place to bury their diamonds and art...
Before Alexis and after Douglas Channing:
Romancing Zach Powers' twin brother -- just before she kills him!
Germany is a big country, and it was a big war. There are many collections.
Marinos Shipping, Galveston Industries...both secret divisions of The Cartel.
Unbeknownst to Jacqueline's former lover Aaron Southworth, a part of Southfork was used for secret military intelligence projects funded by The Cartel, and these projects left a residue of dangerous radiation. That's why Lucy is so short.
They used to be best friends...until Ruth found out that Paul's empire was built on WWII money provided by his lover Jacqueline. Oh well, she got over it.
Empire Valley was one of Jacqueline's personal projects, but as we know she didn't live long enough to see it happen.
I knew it! I knew it all!!
And soapchat gets the scoop. This was all so secret, it wasn't even in the Secret Falcon Files.
Unseen goings on revolving around Angela’s nemesis sure would have been a must seen miniseries spin off. Lana Turner could even have taken centre stage in the later years, before she made her dramatic guest return to the American wine country. In the grand scheme of things unfortunately FALCON CREST belonged to just the one Hollywood Golden Oldie and this wasn’t the thespian who took the limo to go to the loo.
Richard is settling into the Tuscany Valley. After being fostered, the finding of his blood mother (Doug Channing’s mistress) was one of the main reasons he came to the wine country. A Falcon Crest party is happening and he breaks the news, (a scene from season 2, 1982-’83):
Standing with Diana Hunter he utters: “A ah the stage is set.” He taps on his glass.
Richard: “Ladies and gentlemen may I have your attention, for a moment please.”
Julia: “This man is full of surprises.”
Angela: “I hate surprises!”
Richard: “Thank you. I am sorry to interrupt you but I felt that since we are all gathered here this evening it would be the perfect opportunity, to tell you how thankful I am. You see when I first came to the Tuscany Valley one of my main objectives was to find my mother. Well I’m thrilled to tell you I’ve found her. As a matter of fact she is here tonight.”
A dramatic drum roll commences…..
Everyone is gobsmacked.
Richard raises his glass and says, “To my mother Jacqueline Perrault.”
Jacqueline is beside Chase and is astonished that Richard revealed she was Doug’s mistress.
Angela points at Jacqueline, while exclaiming, “You bitch!!!”
Fade to black on Jacqueline. The credits and the closing theme tune commence.
Would CBS have been the network for such a show and would Lorimar have done the production? The potential defintely endless but the sour grapes could have been possibly out with Jane Wyman. I suppose 1983 could have been the year for this mini-series, just after Lana left FC.
Lana Turner used to date Lorenzo Lamas' handsome dad who beat her up for dancing too enthusiastically with a party guest.
I wonder if it was weird once Lana later worked with Fernando's handsome son on FC.
Knowing Lana and her naughty ways, she probably dated Lorenzo, too.
Without a doubt, Lana.
I can't think of the any other who had such impact and influence on the storylines, even when gone.
Lana in all her candid glory. What a lady! Yet it is hard to believe she is 22 years dead.
