Now that Jan-Micheal Vincent had passed away, i suddenly realize i also forgot that I have the first 3 seasons of Airwolf in my collection, i don't have the last final season 4 because i dont consider that as a part from the original series. ;)

This is new to me, Willie, and I'm intrigued.

If I've understood, it's basically a number of mini-series and TV movies that all tell one huge story over seventeen years. Very unique, and - rightly or not - it also suggests quality.

The series was a hit in Holland (and quite a few other European countries, I imagine) but for whatever reason I didn't watch it, so it's all new to me too!
I wonder how this vintage 80s series compares to the modern maffia series and movies, but I usually like the European productions from that era. They have that time capsule thing that I don't get from the US series (unless it's a 1970s production).

We had a similar show, Moordspel (Murder Game) but only 6 episodes were made, unfortunately. The reason for its cancellation was quite bizarre: the actor who played the victim in the first episode died a few days after that episode was broadcast. The news programme Het Journaal informed the Dutch public of the actor's passing and they showed parts of his last performance in...Moordspel.
This caused the audience to think that he had actually died from the snake bite (the murder weapon), which damaged the image of the show and its producer.
The intro was what I would call James Bond on acid

Either way, I'm so glad I've found a few episodes on YouTube, but I'm also intrigued by the British version.
Is it the same as Cluedo?

Oh my. That's quite the urban legend.

That's a perfect description. And it has its own dance routine?! Was it the same every week, I wonder. Or did each routine contain a vital clue about the murder.

Similar, I think, in that both have an enactment of a crime and then all the participants are questioned by a panel who have to guess. I think in both cases the person whodunnit was allowed to lie.

The big difference, I think, is that the setting, characters and types of crime varied in each episode of Whodunnit? whereas Cluedo was always confined to the same half a dozen rooms and suspects. Though of course with Cluedo, the panel also had to deduce the room and murder weapon.

I think I'm going to crack open the Whodunnit? DVD this weekend so I'll know more about it very soon.

Part II of The Flying Doctors series will be released on May 25.
    upload_2019-5-1_2-20-9.png

50 euros is not cheap, but it is possible to get the complete series. The Dutch import series 1-4 (+ mini) is also available from amazon.
    Just in case anyone's interested.

I'm trying to justify the purchase of The Brothers (£80:eek:)

But I've never seen it...will I like it or not?

I can remember hesitating by the complete series box set in HMV more than once and almost buying it. I thought I'd wait until it came down in price a little more, but then it went out of print and the price started climbing.

These things are always difficult to predict. Many's the time I've bought a very expensive set only for it to be sold for a fraction of the price some months later. But examples like The Flying Doctors incident linger in my mind and so sometimes I will fork out a little more than I'm comfortable paying just to make sure I don't miss out entirely.

Well, I hope my little story above has helped you justify it. £80 does seem a lot, but I suppose you can think of it as just over £11 per series which is reasonable enough.

I've never seen it either, so I hope you'll let me know what you think. I've been curious about it for decades but have never got to see it and I hadn't realised it was out on DVD. Gerard Glaister went on to create Howards' Way, so that's a good sign.

I'm also interested in The Brothers just for the fact that it has Kate O'Mara. Well I have also heard it's very good, but it is pricey. Although I did pay around £80 or more for 2 seasons of The Colbys… Oh I don't know!

That's a completely different situation, Alexis. The Colbys is priceless! I feel I should have paid more. Oh wait, I did. I've bought 2 box sets!
