I know there are tons of songs that have many covers so pick just one that you like.

I will start by posting an original and a cover. Then the next SC music lover can tell us which they like better and then post their own 2 songs.

    I am starting off with

    Yes you guessed it...

Bowie ~ Drive in Saturday Night (original)

    or

Morrisey ~ Drive in Saturday Night (cover)

Which one do you like better?

I prefer the Siouxsie & the Banshees version, they turned a rather dull Beatles song into something better.

I liked them both for different reasons. I will say The Eurythmics I've not heard them sing this before and its a good cover.

    Crikey! this was tough.
I'm going to stick with the original Gary Newman version,. It was a close call because I very much admire how Saint Etienne have made the cover sound very different from the original, very clever.

Oh my, this is impossible. I like them equally because they're both so very different [IMG] are we allowed to have a draw?
If I really have to chose then I will go for Johnny Cash. Because he made the original good song, sound like an equally good new song.

This is the first time I hear the Neil Diamond version and it just doesn't make sense.
I'm not a fan of UB40 but I prefer their version of Red Red Wine.
