What did this mean? Was someone known as Freckles the Clown killed somewhere? Was it a knock-off reference to 'Chuckles Bites the Dust' only MTM Productions wouldn't let them use the name? What is it exactly??
I don't have any info on the Freckles the Clown mystery but what is also a mystery to me is why Alexis and Sable insist on addressing each other as 'cousin'? I mean, who does that?? I guess for some reason the writers felt we needed to be reminded of that on a regular basis but it sounds very silly.
Yea but soaps do that all the time. Siblings on shows call each other 'Baby brother' and 'Big brother' and 'Sis' all the time in ways that real people never would. I guess it's just a form or exposition. I think with Alexis and Sable they were both speaking down to each other in some weird condescending way. Dripping vitriol while reminding one another they were the same blood. Some kind of perverse, patronising, torturous-ness. Or something like that.
I think Freckles the Clown is just a low bitchy remark on Sable's appearance and identity. Alexis is catty, freckles is a dig at her red hair, she'd have likely been fair skinned and freckled in England with strawberry blonde hair before acquiring her California tan. The clown bit could be seen as Alexis' perception of her cousin as a joke. Ridiculous and not to be taken seriously. How wrong she was.
Plot twist: there's a rumor going on in the family that Sable is actually an illegitimate child sired by a drunk Irishman. That's what Alexis was alluding to - those damn Irish and their red hair!
