As we all know there was little harmony in Andrew Colby's house: fights, schemes, divorces, courtroom battles etc.
But there were also characters who were determined to bring down the entire Colby clan, although most of the hatred was reserved for the troubled patriarch, and not always for what Jason himself had done.
Who had the biggest axe to grind in Colby Land?

Not to rain on your parade, but Colby Land is not confined to House of Colby imo, thus my pick as the answer to who had the biggest axe to grind in Colby Land is the Colbys adversary not on your list.

I think that Zach and Lucas were similar villains i.e. they used their money and power against Jason's money and power, a bit like arm-wrestling.
Philip (or is it Phillip, I never know how to spell that name) felt very betrayed for various reasons and maybe he hated his brother because he always did the right thing.
But I voted for D.A. Moretti because he didn't have the power and fortune and he had to find other methods to defeat the mighty Jason Colby.

Which I'm trying to apply to this...ahem. "discussion". That's why I'm feeling so close to The Colbys because I know what it's like to be sabotaged.

I voted for Phillip. The other adversaries were all outsiders whereas he was a threat from inside the palace. He really rattled Jason's cage as he threatened his holier than thou position as head of the family. And Phillip's back story was interesting and ripe for mining. It's a shame that they seemed to be writing him into a corner with that Frankie kidnap before they even knew if they'd be around for a third season.

I do like Zack but his motives were pretty textbook. I can't even recall Moretti's motives for hating the Colbys but I always thought he was a pain in the arse.

Did anyone else, other than the viewers and Frankie herself, realize she’d been kidnapped? I've forgotten how they came to be following Frankie's car. Wasn’t Jason after Philip over something else? Jason/Jeff might have thought the two were running off together. If no one had realized she was a kidnap victim, then I think that if Frankie died (or was unconscious for a long time), Philip wouldn’t need wriggle room for a kidnap.

Yes, there was something "Cliff Barnes" about him eventhough it was a relatively small role. I like evil cops.

Almost literally. Taken from a movie based on a book. Yeah, I agree.

Frankie phoned Fallon from the car phone to tell her she'd been kidnapped. Fallon then told Jeff & Jason. So those three knew. I think I read somewhere that Michael Parks wasn't coming back for season three had it happened, so I'm guessing we would've had one of those open ended "no body was recovered from the car wreck" scenarios, leaving it open for Phillip to return at a later stage. Or they'd just kill him off, which would've been a waste.

I prefered Zach. Wish he had become a seat in the supervisory board together with Sable and give Jason some real headaches ...

I’m tantalized by the thought that if the plot for Season 3/4 called for Fallon to be hallucinating that spaceship, then could she have been hallucinating other events? Was she having some sort of mental blow-out that rather perversely enabled her to pick up on stuff psychically? Like Frankie’s distress. So strong that Fallon really believed that Frankie phoned her and spoke to her about being kidnapped -- though Frankie may not have actually gotten through to her, or perhaps never even made the call. (If viewers saw the spaceship that Fallon never got on, then it’s possible viewers saw Fallon receiving a phone call that never happened or which didn’t actually play out as they thought.) It could have turned out that Fallon, in her mental condition had believed Frankie physically phoned her about being kidnapped by Philip even though Frankie hadn't. End result: J&J went chasing that car.... Basically, anything that's connected to Fallon from the time she went off the handle when Henderson told her about the phone call is suspect.

TC always had a twinning theme… Similarly, Zack told someone something about Philip and that got conveyed to Jason who then told Jeff – except that, observant viewers knew that there was clearly a question mark over whether the incriminating evidence in hand was what it seemed…. I fancy the plot for Season 3 was going down the route that there would be next to nothing by way of good evidence to tie Philip to upsetting events. There would just be this thick cloud of suspicion around him.

Was she hallucinating? The spaceship is hiding away in the guise of a restaurant roof top in this season 2/episode 2 scene's first three seconds.

And... The restaurant is really Alexis' apartment in disguise. I think we know what happened here. Alexis used all her resources and witchy ways to bring her daughter back to Denver. At all costs.

The design of that restaurant could be the reason why she hallucinated the UFO in the first place.
It's like when you dream about average stuff in real life, but in your dream it looks different.

Thanks for clearing that up, Michael[IMG]
