I always thought she was most beautiful during the time of Bobby's shooting.
There was something rather regal about Victoria Principle I'll even say that she was the 80s answer to Audrey Hepburn of the 50s/60s
They were all fine until they started getting those dumb haircuts ca. 1983-84 (Some of the Knots Landing women were guilty of this, too). Thank heavens Charlene Tilton was able to dodge those shears.
I remember back in the mid to late 80s, inside a NZ medical health magazine, was an article on what made up the most attractive face shape, using measurements all around the face, from the brow to the nose, etc. This was illustrated by a colour close up pic of Victoria, it didn’t even mention her name, she had such a high recognisability quotant. The caption underneath simply read “is this the perfect face?” That says it all really. Even scientists agree she has ideal bone structure to make her visually appealing to most people.
To be honest with you all, Victoria Principal wasn't just the prettiest in her final season. She was gorgeous throughout her run on Dallas.
A lot of people seem to forget that when she left the show the ratings for Dallas began there spiral descent downwards.
The reason's for that are twofold, one - that ridiculous dream season explanation for Bobby Ewing's return from the dead, & two - the also ridiculous explanation that Pam survived the car accident with the Oil Tanker!
Don't get me wrong, her last season is classic Dallas & she certainly is a very beautiful woman. She got out of Dallas at the right time. I will always love her, she left Dallas on principle (pun intended!) before the quality of the writing really started to spiral out of control.
Lol I never forget the ratings plummeted after VP’s exit. My dallas exit was the same episode as hers ;-) and yes absolutely she was stunning throughout the series except perhaps her poodle perm moment
I didn't mind the perm but I preferred her with straight hair.
She was one of the most beautiful women on the planet back when she was younger.
I will always love her.
Gee. I'm not sure anybody forgets that!
One of? She WAS
I thought Victoria probably looked her best around the time this photo was taken (1980), although she was stunning throught her tenure on "Dallas." I thought she was breathtaking here.
My viewer ship ended (for the most part) when she left, too. I heard she was heavily into melons her last season.......
I like the red hair.
I think VP was the most beautiful woman in soap, and I know that could be a bold statement since you also got: Linda Gray and Linda Evans (very very very close seconds the both of them) Susan Sullivan, Pamela Sue Martin, Catherine Oxenberg and Joan Collins, I think the reason why VP stands out more is that there is something classical about her features, very similar to Audrey Hepburn.
VP had European beauty as well as American glamour, I actually think that after Diana wasn't VP the most talked about woman in the world in the 1980s?
VP was more talked about than Madonna, Evans and Collins? I'm not sure, at least not in America -- although she was quite famous and popular.
She was in UK, Madonna wasnt talked about until about 1984/5 and Die nasty was never as popular in UK as Dallas and didnt get the same press or coverage. It was never the UKs fav US soap. Up until shooting of JR it was Larry who made the press, a couple of years later VP dominated the Dallas headlines and was in a league of her own re coverage, magazine covers and newspaper print!
as said Michael Douglas in a movie "how do you think clichés became clichés" ? Because they're statistically more often true than false.
So, Joan Collins was wrong. And men arn't allowed to age. They use to be considered*** attractive past 40 than women.Could be unfair, but "unfairness" never had been synonymous for "false"
***does I have to specify I speak in statistical terms ?
BTW, for me, Principal was stunning in 1978. And only there. She's pretty and sexy later, of course (ah ! this aerobics suit !!!), but ugly haircut, ugly dress, too much surgery... 1978 Pam was a strong and sexy underdog girl, with fresh soul, simple and elegant clothes, stunning face and glorious sober haircut)
as opposite, Linda Gray was on top of her sexyness near 1987-87 (and still was in 2014). Depend on genetics,I presume.
Oh, wow. Something we don't agree on. lol I thought she looked her best from Seasons 6-9 (DVD) until she disappeared because of her... back. The difference, although it was good work, was noticeable, and I don't think she ever looked quite as fresh or natural ever again. True, however, that she still looked very beautiful.
I always thought that Victoria Principal looked best / perfect in her initial 24 episodes of Dallas, face, hair, everything. She was a stunning beauty for many years until she got lost in the jungle in dream season 8. One of the most beautiful women ever, but she looked stunningly beautiful up to the episode in season 1 where she left Bobby for the first time.
After the jungle, it felt as if she had lost half of her face, and went from IMO perfect beauty to average cutie. Whatever was special about her was gone. Back then, I did not even recognise VP at first when she came out of the jungle.
