Starts next week, with Russia vs Saudi Arabia.

    - Which team or teams are you cheering for?
    - Who do you think will win?
    - How much will you watch?
    - Do you have any favorite player?

I am always rooting for Sweden and Germany when it comes to football/soccer. But this year I am also cheering for Iceland and Denmark. It's extra fun with 3 Nordic countries in the World Cup! I am also cheering for Spain.

Of the 5 teams I am rooting for, I believe only Spain & Germany will go far. Both did a bad European Championships two years ago, so they need to avenge themselves!

Who will win though? Right now I am thinking it may be Brazil.

How much will you watch? More than I usually do. I'll at the very least keep up-to-date of the daily standings.

I would like to see an upset. I'm with you @Emelee , I'd like to see the Nordic countries go far. I'll be rooting for Denmark, Sweden, Iceland for an upset.

I do think Spain and Brazil will do well as they usually do.

England :hats:and I will now add Sweden in your honour @Emelee.

    Germany or Argentina.

I will probably watch it on and off. If England are playing well then I become more enthusiastic.

Not a current player, but Gareth Southgate the England manager. I have high hopes that he will get the tactics right and he is also appears to have a calm influence on the team. I also like Harry Kane the captain.

My favourite from the other international teams is Kasper Schmeichel (son of Peter Schmeichael) and he plays for Denmark.

All these favourites of mine are very likely to change once the tournament starts. :D

i will root for England and hope they get far in the competition and dont lose out (again) on penalties - I always support the home nations and lets face it scotland are pretty bad these days

cant believe my second choice Italy didnt qualify!!

2 I think a S American team will win - but i hope not, same goes for Germany - apologies but time for someone else

on paper Belgium have some good players and may be a surprise. de Bruyne, Lukaku, hazard, Cortois
I remember one good game from last World cup and i was rooting for Iran to win it - they played a really good game against Argentina I think. I think its wide open this time

3 I will watch a LOT!!!! Love footie

    4. the one and only Lionel Messi, just pure class, pure talent and not just out for himself like a certain posery, preening player from Portugal

I hope Mo Salah is fit for Egypt - great to watch and Hope Kane and Vardy do it for England and that Rashford gets a few games and starts for England

Besides, my puberty was deeply touched by this "soccer movie"...(then I thought this was usual in US...go figure!). Definitely, I was a Texan born out of Texas...

Spain/Espana were unlucky last night to draw as they played a better game of football and Costas, Isco and Iniesta were fab
It was such an exciting match but - there was Ronaldo to spoil the party and that was a great free kick ie goal no 3
Pity he is such a big headed so and so!

He wasn't pure class after the match against Iceland. He probably has more money than the entire country of Iceland, so he should stay away from commenting on the quality of the Icelandish players! With only 300.000 inhabitants to choose among, Iceland can only play the way their players are good at. Plus: they did score a goal. They definitely deserve the draw!!!

Many surprising results this week. Brazil playing even with Switzerland. Germany losing against Mexico. Argentina playing even with Iceland. Australia almost taking a point in the match against France.

I like surprises (most of the time), so this World Cup has been very interesting so far. Many of the underdogs have done really really well.

Well its not been what I expected and always like an underdog to do well.

The Mexicans played their hearts out and deserved to win against Germany
France didnt look great, Messi missing a penalty! that was a shocker

best team so far I have seen is Spain
and then there is 7pm tonight!! bring it on!

I always find it a tense experience watching England.
Despite the best efforts of the referee, the none resistant VAR and some of the Tunisian defenders playing like rugby players in the box, especially towards Harry Kane, we won 2 - 1

    [IMG] [IMG]

I admired the attitude of our players keeping their cool and not reacting to any provocation. Harry Kane was superb and I was so pleased that it was he who scored the winner, he deserved it.

    Also

Well done to my second team Sweden who won against South Korea 1 - 0 :hats:
